Since I can observe Swedish culture closely as I am married to a Swedish, I can understand very well where that famous Scandinavian interior design comes from. Anyway, if you recall from the very serious narrative on the first blog, I have summarized through the Turkish houses that the design of the building and space is shaped by the way of living and the culture that emerged as a result of it.
But since I can't go back very historically (Since I've been married for 7 years J), the Swedish people are simple people in every way if I make a comment only through my own observations. No one, young or old, is wearing extravagant and colorful clothes or making glamorous make-up or hair. (I wonder if I should take the vivid colored clothes from my Aegian wardrobe to Sweden J.) White and pastel colors in the interiors should be an extension of this.
As everyone knows, Sweden is one of the most advanced countries in the world in equality between women and men. I haven't met a woman who hasn't worked around me yet. No one thinks she's in charge of household chores, even if she doesn't work. Everyone, including children, shares it. But to make the busy life practical, less furniture is used in the interior so that cleaning does not take much time. Although helpers are being used for cleaning these days, but my mother-in-law said it was a shame to use another woman for her own cleaning in her youth.
